On March 2, China's U20 national soccer team, which arrived in Uzbekistan to prepare for the U20 Asian Cup, changed its training ground several times due to unsatisfactory conditions at the training ground, according to Beijing Youth Daily.
On the afternoon of February 24 local time, China's U20 national soccer team had its first outdoor training session after arriving in Uzbekistan. The training ground was the JAR Stadium secondary field, one of the team's group stage venues. However, the team was surprised by the difference in the quality of the turf on the training ground. The turf was yellowed in large areas of the field, with some areas of exposed soil and localized areas of unevenness. In order to avoid injuries to the players, the team only conducted physical recovery training on that day and did not conduct technical and tactical drills.
After the U20 national football team complained about the quality of the training ground, the organizing committee adjusted the U20 national football team's training ground on 25th local time to the Dinamo Club training ground, but the quality of the turf here was still poor. For this reason, the U20 national football team complained again, so from February 26th local time, the whole team's training ground was adjusted to the training ground of Ben Yudeko Football Academy. In fact, the experience of the Chinese U20 team also happened to many other teams.
As the organizers of last year's fifth U23 Asian Cup, Uzbekistan had relatively good venues. However, a rare cold winter was experienced locally last year, and the grass at each of the training venues was relatively badly damaged, with venue restoration work yet to be completed. Under these circumstances, the local organizing committee had to temporarily commandeer seven venues at the Ben Yudko Football Academy and arrange for each team to train.
As the seven venues are located in relatively close proximity to each other, this arrangement also provides an opportunity for "intelligence" between teams.
