On February 21, the CFA issued a notice on the registration of players' transfers for clubs in the Chinese Super League, Chinese A League and Chinese B League for the 2023 season, and the first transfer window of 2023 was opened on February 22 and ended on April 7 (Note: Chinese B League ended on April 14). However, the opening of the transfer window does not mean that clubs can immediately complete the corresponding procedures for the introduction of new assistance - only after entering can all clubs register players for the new season in turn.

twists and turns

After three adjustments, the transfer window opens today

Unlike previous years, the opening of the transfer window for the 2023 season has been delayed a couple of times for the Chinese Super League, Chinese First Division and Chinese Second Division. According to the FIFA Transfer Matching System TMS, the earliest opening time of the transfer window was January 16th, ending on February 28th; January 16th was changed to February 1st; and on the evening of January 31st, the time was changed again to February 20th. After three adjustments, the CFA finally determined that the first transfer window of the new season for Chinese Super League and Chinese A clubs will be open from February 22 to April 7, and the second transfer window will be tentatively scheduled from July 1 to July 31; the first transfer window for Chinese B clubs is from February 22 to April 14, and the second transfer window will be tentatively scheduled from July 1 to July 31.

In the 2023 season, there is no quota restriction for new transfers of domestic players by Chinese Super League, Chinese First Division and Chinese Second Division clubs, and naturalized players will be transferred and registered as domestic players. In the first transfer window, each Chinese Super League club can register no more than six foreign aiders, and each Chinese League One club can register no more than three foreign aiders. In the two transfer windows, the number of foreign aiders that each Chinese Super League club can register shall not exceed seven, and the number of foreign aiders that each Chinese Super League club can register shall not exceed four.
