On February 7, the preparatory team of the Chinese Football Association and the Chinese Football Federation held a meeting of the heads of clubs of the 2023 Chinese Professional Football League at the national team's training base in Xianghe to discuss and study the access process. According to the plan at the time, the access procedure was released on Feb. 10 and a deadline of March 3 was set for clubs to submit their access materials. Due to the changes, clubs did not receive the access procedures on Friday and the notice of adjustment was not officially published until the evening of the 15th. No forfeiting or striking without reason. Race Attitude Entry Access Rules

Influenced by factors such as epidemics and schedule conflicts, the attitude of Chinese Super League teams towards the AFC Champions League has changed over the past few seasons, with abandoned matches and ladder matches not uncommon. Under these circumstances, Chinese Super League teams have lost several times in the AFC Champions League in recent years, falling in the technical points rankings and facing the embarrassing prospect of a significant drop in their AFC Champions League berths. For this reason, the CFA has added a "commitment to actively and seriously participate in AFC tournaments" to the access rules.

According to the new terms, clubs applying for admission should undertake to prepare for the AFC tournaments seriously in accordance with the AFC tournament admission requirements and tournament rules, and should not abandon or go on strike without any reason. Obey the management of the tournament organizers, strengthen the management of match style and discipline, and field the strongest squad for the best results. This requirement also appears in domestic tournaments such as the FA Cup and Super Cup.

It is worth mentioning that the commitment to actively and seriously participate in the AFC, FA Cup, Super Cup and other tournaments is classified as Grade A (this criterion applies to the Chinese Super League, Chinese League A and Chinese League B). The CFA Professional Club Entry Rules clearly stipulate that Grade A is a "mandatory criterion", i.e., an applicant who does not meet any of the Grade A criteria for applying to participate in a professional league will not be granted entry to a professional league and will not be able to participate in professional leagues at that level. Therefore, if a club faces a tournament perfunctorily, it will affect the next year's admission.

As the Chinese Super League returns to the home-and-away system this season, the attitude towards the AFC Champions League should be restored to the period of "all-out winning". 2021 and 2022, the Chinese Super League teams in the group stage of the AFC Champions League, the answer to the 1-draw-11-losses, for the second consecutive year without a win. For Chinese soccer, which is currently in the doldrums, a positive attitude towards the AFC Champions League is a step towards saving the reputation and face of Chinese soccer.
