Paul Scholes played all 20 years of his career for Manchester United.
Scholes joined the Manchester United youth team on July 8, 1991 and turned professional on January 23, 1993, when Scholes became a member of the youth and reserve teams. Due to his outstanding performances, he also became a member of the England Under-18 team. Scholes' first league start came against Ipswich on September 24, 1994, where he scored two goals in that 2-3 defeat.
In the 2005-2006 season, Scholes injured his eye in the Champions League group stage match against Benfica and was limited to two Premier League games.
Scholes scored a goal in the first week of the 2007-08 Premier League season, thus surpassing Ruud van Nistelrooy as Manchester United's highest goal scorer in the Premier League to date.
Scholes is best known for his ability to attack from the back, which, coupled with his strong shooting, has earned him the reputation of being a "backward killer" and a "heavy hitter". He started his career as a striker and played alongside Manchester United's Cantona in his early days.
