On September 9, 2017, Lampard returned to Chelsea Football Club and joined the club's youth team, assisting Jordy Morris as he began coaching the U-18 youth team.
On May 31, 2018, Derby County Football Club announced that Frank Lampard had become the team's manager on a three-year deal. This is Lampard's first coaching job, in a season where Derby County finished 6th in the Championship to reach the play-offs, but were unfortunate to be defeated by Aston Villa in the final at Wembley.
On July 4, 2019, Chelsea Football Club announced that Frank Lampard is the new manager of the team. Lampard officially returned to Chelsea and the two sides signed a three-year deal.
On January 25, 2021, Chelsea announced the sacking of manager Frank Lampard. Chelsea stated that performance had not shown "any clear path to sustained improvement" and that a change of manager was necessary.
Lampard took charge of Everton on January 31, 2022, but the club sacked Lampard on the afternoon of January 23, 2023 due to poor results.
