In 1999, due to the suspension or injury of many veterans, Hu Zhaojun and junior partners such as Ji Mingyi, Yan Song and Zou Jie were promoted to the first team by head coach Xu Genbao.

Before entering the first team of Dalian Wanda (Late Pool Note: The full name of the season was Dalian Wanda Shide), Hu Zhaojun represented Dalian Yiteng Liantie. In his first season at Wanda, Hu Zhaonjun, wearing the No. 7 jersey, made six substitute appearances.
In 2000, the name of the team became Dalian Shide, and Hu Zhaojun made his first debut in the penultimate round of the A-League (25th round) against Qingdao, wearing the No.14 jersey, and played the whole game. 2001, Hu Zhaojun got more chances to play, and in 2002, Hu Zhaojun became the absolute mainstay of Dalian Shide. By this time, Hu Zhaojun had already won the AA, FA Cup, Super Cup and National Games with his team.
In 2008, Hu Zhaogun took over the Dalian Shide No. 10 jersey left behind by Jangovic.
In August 2009, Hu Zhaojun switched to Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals (now the Guangzhou team, because the parent company Evergrande cheated money for many years once faced collapse).

Prior to joining the Dalian Read Line coaching staff, Hu Zhaogun served as an assistant coach for the U17 National Junior Team.
