Feb. 6 - A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkey today. Jiayue Li, who is studying abroad with the Galatasaray women's soccer team in Turkey, recorded a video to report safety.
A safety report for you," Li Jiayue said in the video. Turkey just had a 7.8 magnitude earthquake because we were playing on the road, very, very close to the epicenter. After 4 a.m., I woke up with the shock that my house was about to fall down and then ran away with the team."
Li Jiayue added: "Because it's so close to the epicenter, the situation here is also more serious. Many of my teammates were scared and cried. Although I didn't cry, it was the first time I felt that death was close to me, so I was still scared. My brother is a strong woman, so don't worry, I'll give you a safe."
Earlier this year, Li Jiayue joined the Galatasaray women's soccer team in Turkey and then made several consecutive starts for the team.
