Early Experience:
High School: attended Knight High School. Started out with limited basketball skills, but began playing for the varsity team his sophomore year. As a senior, he averaged 24 points and 9 rebounds per game, leading Knight High School to the Gold League Championship, being named to the Los Angeles Times Regional All-District Team, and being selected as the Gold League's Most Valuable Player.
College: Attended Fresno State. Started all 34 games his freshman season, averaging 14.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game, which led the team in several categories. His sophomore season continued to excel, being named to the WAC Second-Team All-Best XI and also being named one of the "16 Most Anticipated Players in the NCAA" by Sports Illustrated.On November 10, 2019, Fresno State announced the retirement of George's No. 24 jersey.
NBA Career:
Indiana Pacers era (2010-2017): Drafted by the Indiana Pacers in 2010 with the tenth overall pick in the first round. Had a middling rookie season, but grew into a centerpiece player for the team. Led the Pacers to the playoffs multiple times, going up against some tough teams.
Oklahoma City Thunder Period (2017-2019): paired with players like Westbrook on the Thunder and continued to perform well individually, but the team failed to make a major breakthrough in the playoffs.
