On the eve of Villa's upcoming match away to Fulham, Villa manager Emery gave an interview to the media, giving his thoughts on the possibility of starting his team's striker Duran, as well as on the topic of Tuchel's appointment as the new England manager.
Responding to Duran's performance and chances of starting in the team, Emery said, "I've been looking back at Duran's development in the team and how he's made progress to earn more starts. Maybe we will start him tomorrow or in the next game. I think he's ready for his next challenge coming up. Friday morning's practice showed that every player in the lineup has a chance to start. Duran has been playing very well, which is good news for us and for him personally, and his playing time is picking up."
On the topic of Tuchel as the new England manager, Emery spoke highly of him: "I can only talk about him from the coach's point of view. Tuchel is a very remarkable coach, he has a lot of experience, has coached in many countries, and won the Champions League at Chelsea. His coaching style and tactical philosophy are highly acclaimed and I believe he can bring new energy and change to the England team."
Asked if he would like to be in charge of the national team, Emery said, "At the moment I am very happy with being in charge of the club. I don't know if there will be an offer from the national team in the future, it's not too clear yet. My main focus is still on Villa's matches and training and I hope to lead the team to better results."
