The English FA officially announced an important decision recently that German-born manager Tuchel will officially take over the coaching whip of the England national team in January 2025. The news triggered widespread concern and discussion, in which Everton boss Dyche and Leicester City boss Cooper expressed their views in an interview.

Dyche said that although most people expected a homegrown England coach to coach the national team, Tuchel's coaching record has fully proved his ability. He mentioned that former coach Southgate did a great job during his tenure, but there have been many other excellent managers in the history of English soccer, and the addition of these foreign coaches has not frustrated the local coaches. Dyche also humorously stated that he is certainly not one of the candidates for the England national team manager.

Leicester City boss Cooper, on the other hand, is more interested in the training and development of England's local coaches. He believes that over time, the standard of English coaches will continue to improve and is expected to be on par with the best in the world. He emphasized that in the meantime, English soccer must seize any opportunity to do its job rather than talk and complain too much. Cooper is confident in the British culture and approach to education and believes that the FA and the Welsh FA are developing and educating coaches in the right way. He also expressed his support and anticipation for the EFL's decision to appoint Tuchel as top coach as well as assistant coach Anthony Barry.
