Everton will face Ipswich away in the 8th round of EPL at 22:00 BST on Saturday night. Before the match, Everton veteran Ashley Young was interviewed by the club's officials, expressing his expectations for the match and revealing his plans to play for a few more years.
Speaking about the atmosphere at the training ground, Ashley Young said, "We're really looking forward to this game after a long international day. We want to get another three points over and above what we've got so far. We've had a good win and a good draw before and we want to build on that. As good as we've been, I don't think we've achieved as much as we should have. We knew it wasn't going to be an easy game, but we were confident in ourselves to get the three points."
On remaining unbeaten in the last three games, Ashley Young believes it's important for the team: "It's the momentum of the team. Winning the game against Crystal Palace was vital, especially after our previous results. We played well, but losing the lead in the Premier League is hard to take. So we have to start building momentum for November and the Christmas period. This is vital. We are about to play a number of teams of equal strength, so it is important for us to keep an eye on the table and get points. But we can't think too far ahead and we have to look at our next game, which is away to Ipswich."
Speaking about the intensive fixtures coming up, Ashley Young said, "Of course, as a footballer, that's what you want to do. There are a lot of games over Christmas, but as you get older your body starts to tell you it's Christmas now! So recovery is important. But when the games come fast and furious, that's what you want to do. You want to get out on the pitch and try to get higher up the table."
Ashley Young spoke highly of the performance of his team's newest addition, N'Diaye: "N'Diaye has been fantastic since he joined the team. When you have a winger like N'Diaye who wants to get the ball, create chances and score goals, then it becomes easy for the defenders playing behind him. It was fantastic to get the ball to him and see him play. All the players who have joined have done well."
Speaking about his career, Ashley Young said, "I just played every season as best I could until my body told me I couldn't do it anymore. That day will be the day I retire. But it could be a couple of years yet because I still feel as fit as I have in the last few years." The veteran has shown his love for soccer and his anticipation for the future as he looks to continue to contribute to Everton.
