Shaanxi Chang'an Athletic Club officials said: after the study of the club's board of directors, Mr. Wang Baoshan will be the head coach of the first team of Shaanxi Chang'an Athletic Daqinshui from now on, and Feng Feng, the acting coach for the 2021 season, will be the captain of the first team.
Born in April 1963 in Baoji, Shaanxi Province, Wang Baoshan began his soccer career at the Baoji Sports School. In 1980, he joined the Shaanxi Provincial Football Team as a player, and in 1986, he was selected for the Chinese National Team, becoming the first international player in Shaanxi's history. 1994, after retiring from playing, Wang Baoshan began his coaching career with Xi'an, and his nearly 30 years of coaching experience accompanied almost the entire process of professionalization of Chinese soccer. Wang Baoshan has coached more than a dozen professional teams including Yunnan Hongta, Jiangsu Shuntian, Chengdu Sheffield United, Chongqing Lifan, Shenzhen Jiazhaoye, Henan Jianye and Tianjin Teda. He has many years of coaching experience in the top league, and has achieved great success by leading his teams to accomplish tasks such as surpassing relegation many times. In addition, Wang Baoshan has coached the national team at several levels and is one of the best representatives of domestic coaches, and was appointed as a member of the CFA Technical Committee in 2021.
