On the 6th, the organizing committee of the China First Division League issued a document saying that due to the impact of the epidemic, Beijing Polytechnic was not able to enter the tournament area according to the stipulated time, resulting in the failure to participate in the first and second rounds of the 2022 season of the China First Division League normally. In view of the system, schedule and time arrangement of the 2022 China First Division League, there is no condition or time to make up the matches. In order to ensure the smooth running of the China First Division League, in accordance with Article 28 of Chapter 4 of the Rules of the 2022 China Football Association First Division League, Beijing Institute of Technology will forfeit its right to participate in the first and second rounds of the 2022 season of the China First Division League.
Today, Beijing Polytechnic Football Club officially issued a letter to respond to this matter:
Recently, there were media reports that the relevant management failed to enter the tournament area according to the specified time, resulting in its failure to participate in the first and second rounds of the 2022 season of the Central League as normal and treated as a forfeit. In this regard, our club solemnly declares that we have never voluntarily agreed to the treatment result for the following reasons.
1. Since the outbreak of the epidemic on the campus of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) on May 18, 2022, according to the requirements of the Beijing Municipal Epidemic Prevention and Control Campus Management Policy, the school has initiated a closed management, and all personnel are not allowed to enter or leave.
2. During the epidemic prevention and control period, my club repeatedly communicated with the relevant management departments to suspend the tournament and meet the post-tournament epidemic prevention and control requirements, but never received an accurate explanation of the relevant epidemic prevention and control policies. During the more than 20 days that the campus was closed, all coaches and players received closed training, during which nearly 20 rounds of nucleic acid testing were conducted with negative results.
3. With the help of the district, the team departed from the school on June 10 and traveled by bus to the designated hotel in Nanjing in a point-to-point closed-loop format to undergo a 7-day quarantine health monitoring according to the local epidemic prevention requirements.
4. My club offered to participate in the second round of the Central League match against Jiangxi, but the organizing committee of the tournament rejected my club's application due to the epidemic prevention and control reasons.
5. In the fourth stage of the First Division League last season, clubs were refused entry to the tournament by the tournament area for traveling to an epidemic risk area, but the relevant management eventually adjusted the league schedule to ensure that the epidemic-involved teams completed the full schedule of matches successfully.
To summarize, as a key university in China, our club respects and understands the epidemic prevention regulations of the local and competition area, and is willing to actively cooperate with the implementation of the relevant regulations. At the same time, as a student army in the Chinese professional league, the team always cherishes the opportunity to exercise in the professional league, cherishes the attitude of learning from others, and hopes that competitive sports will eventually lead to victory or defeat on the field. Therefore, our club will continue to insist that the first and second rounds of this season's China League 1 be appealed in the form of a bye, and we hope that the relevant management departments will consider this carefully.
