The Chinese Football Association (CFA) announced today that all professional soccer clubs will be required to settle all historical salary arrears by December 31, 2022.

In order to further do a good job in the implementation of the professional soccer clubs to solve the problem of wage arrears, the CFA published the Supplementary Circular of the Chinese Football Association on the Further Improvement of the Implementation of Policies Related to the 2022 Season at All Levels of the Professional League, No. 268 of the Soccer Character ﹝2022﹞, which emphasized that professional soccer clubs should accurately understand the policy provisions, strictly implement the requirements of the program, and meticulously sort out the historical situation of wage arrears and report the progress of the settlement of wage arrears. historical wage arrears, and report the progress of wage arrears settlement.

Following the release of the above documents, most professional soccer clubs have completed the requirement of settling at least 70% of outstanding wages in the second phase. According to the relevant requirements set out in the Notice of the Chinese Football Association on the work relating to the Chinese Super League, the Chinese First League and the Chinese Second League for the 2022 season published by the Chinese Football Association on April 2, 2022 under the Soccer Character (2022) No. 121, professional soccer clubs should settle all historical wage arrears by December 31, 2022.

The authorized persons of the professional soccer clubs for the settlement of wage arrears are requested to submit the latest repayment vouchers to the working contact person of this notice before January 6, 2023. The CFA will meticulously review the relevant materials submitted by the professional soccer clubs.

For professional soccer clubs that fail to implement the above requirements, the CFA will deal with them in accordance with the relevant penalties set out in the Circular of the Chinese Football Association on the work related to the 2022 season of the Chinese Super League, the Chinese First Division League and the Chinese Second Division League in accordance with the Football Character (2022) No. 121.
