In a recent interview, soccer great Hasselbaink spoke highly of Palmer, praising him as a world-class player and noting that his only weakness is heading.

Hasselbaink said, "When Palmer is in top form, he is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world, no matter what kind of play he tries. He has found his own feel for the game and shows great talent and flair. He is a brilliant talent who doesn't need to be pampered and just wants to play the game with his soccer passion."

"Palmer reminds me of the kind of street soccer players of old who possessed unparalleled soccer skills and game intelligence. I used to worry that these types of players had faded away, but Palmer's emergence has brought back the return of that trait. He was excellent on the field, showing a high level of play whether he was passing, scoring, assisting or taking free kicks."

However, Hasselbaink also pointed out Palmer's only weakness, "His only shortcoming is his heading. While this affects his ability to scramble in the air to some extent, his excellence in other areas of the game is enough to cover this deficiency."
