In an interview with Manchester City's official website, Manchester City player Grealish expresses his unwavering confidence in the team's future and his personal desire to win more honors for the team. On the eve of the upcoming Premier League match against Wolves, Gralish reiterated his quest for continued success for City.
When you win as many honors as we have, you just want to keep winning championships," said Gralish. That feeling of lifting a trophy never goes away, and neither does the feeling of winning a title with your teammates. Personally, when you win a trophy with your teammates after a long, hard season, it's one of the best feelings in soccer. That feeling doesn't go away and hopefully we can do it again this season."
Manchester City are aiming to win their fifth consecutive Premier League title this season and make a push for the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup titles at the same time. Facing competition from strong teams such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea, Gralish is confident about his team's prospects. He confessed, "Every team has the potential to beat any team in the Premier League this season. Whether it's home or away, every game is tough. But now you look at the top of the table, obviously us, Arsenal and Liverpool are at the top, but I think all the other teams are strong as well. You just have to look at teams like Chelsea, who have done really well this season as well."
Gralish singled out City's tradition of being rejuvenated at the end of the season: "Our team is always confident in itself, but at the end of the season, when it matters most, we are rejuvenated. It's been like that every season since I've been here. Especially in April and May, we played very well and won a lot of games in a row, which helped us to win the cup."
Gralish is not taking the upcoming match against Wolves lightly: "There are no easy games in the Premier League anymore. I know Wolves may not be performing as well as expected in the table, but we know it's always tough to play Wolves away from home and we've had difficulties there in the past. We know it will be a tough game."
Speaking about manager Pep Guardiola, Gralish doesn't hide his admiration for him, "I think he sees soccer in a different way to everyone else. It's not something you can buy with money, it's something you build up through years of experience. He sees soccer in a way that is different to anyone else, very unique and very good. He's a great head coach and it's an honor to play for him."
