According to Qingdao Daily, Qingdao Football Club formally sent a letter to the Football Management Center of the Municipal Sports Bureau on the 12th to explain the club's withdrawal from the Chinese Professional Football League.
In this description of Qingdao Football Club's withdrawal from the Chinese Professional Football League, Qingdao FC stated:In the 2020-2021 season, as a newcomer to the Chinese Super League, the club has a huge shortfall in funding. In addition, the private loan debts left by the previous shareholders left the club with a heavy burden, facing the dilemma of having its accounts closed, and even negatively affecting its investor, the Yellow Sea Group. On the other hand, the two seasons of participation in the Chinese Super League were the two years in which the pneumonia epidemic became a regular feature of the new championship, and the league's system of long-term centralized competition and the policy of "neutral names" for teams made the club's operations even worse, with a number of sponsorships going unfulfilled, ultimately leading to the team's unfortunate relegation in the 2021 season.
Summarizing the above, coupled with the actual situation that the club has been unable to support at this stage of its operational difficulties, we regret our decision to withdraw from the Chinese Professional Football League.
In the next step, the club will focus on the development and support of youth training and school soccer, as explained here. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all sectors of the community for their care, help and support, and wish Qingdao soccer a longer-term development and better results.
For the withdrawal of Qingdao Football Club, the relevant person from the Municipal Football Management Center said, "In addition to deep regret, we will actively cooperate with the Municipal Football Association, and the club will properly handle the follow-up work of the professional team. We will fully support the club's intention to continue to engage in soccer development, and help in participating in soccer tournaments at all levels and carrying out soccer youth training."
