Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- A company called Sky Sports WholesaleClearanceUK has printed 18,000 commemorative shirts of England's championship, according to Sky Sports.
Fan Baxter, 46, managing director of WholesaleClearanceUK, was so sure the Three Lions would return home from Qatar as champions that he had 18,000 commemorative shirts printed before the quarterfinals, with "England 2022, champions, home at last" written on the back But England were eliminated in the quarterfinals.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Baxter said, "A couple of years ago we bought some blank soccer shirts and I decided to take a gamble on success. Even discounting the commemorative shirts, as an English fan I was very disappointed with our performance.
We've reduced the price of these commemorative shirts because we certainly won't be getting any more. So wear it proudly and make it part of your collection or use it to clean the windows, but we can also use it to celebrate the British women's football team who won the Euros."
These commemorative shirts retail for £29.99 but are now £9.99.
