According to the official website of the AFC, the Japanese female referee talked about her feelings of participating in World Cup enforcement in an interview with AFP.
Foothills Beauty did not referee at the World Cup in Qatar, but she participated in enforcement as a fourth official. Stephanie Frappat was a referee for Germany and Costa Rica, making world soccer history by becoming the first woman to referee at a men's World Cup.
According to Ryoomi Yamashita, the World Cup is a milestone in soccer and she urged FIFA officials not to waste the opportunity. "These have laid the foundation for the future, and I hope the future (of female referees enforcing men's soccer matches) flourishes on that basis. It would be pointless if it all stops. I want to do my best to continue in the future."
Yoshimi Yamashita said she was "happy from the bottom of my heart" that Frappat had been appointed referee for the Germany-Costa Rica match. "It really creates new possibilities and I see it all happening in front of me."
