German soccer star Jurgen Klinsmann recently spoke to "China Sports" about the rumors of him coming to China to coach.
Klinsmann revealed in the interview, "A couple years ago, I really talked to China. I talked to Lippi. He was my friend. And then Lippi said, no, I will continue. But life is beautiful because you never know what's going to happen tomorrow, especially in soccer. You don't know who you're going to meet tomorrow. I never thought I would coach Germany. I was living in California and then out of the blue Germany called and said you have to help us. Every step in your life will be unexpected and you never know what will happen tomorrow in the soccer world."
Klinsmann came to China in 2019 to watch a Chinese Super League match and Klinsmann said, "I was impressed. I watched the game in Beijing and met Schmidt. I hope Chinese soccer will continue to develop and build stadiums. Maybe one day China will host the World Cup."
Finally, Klinsmann said, "I know Chinese table tennis is particularly popular. Germany has a very famous player. He is very famous here. Soccer is playing an increasingly important role in the lives of Chinese people. I hope soccer will give children more opportunities to learn and they will slowly progress."
