So far, I don't believe this is true. As my disciple, Li Tie is a very understanding kid. He rarely talks in the team and is very willing to suffer in training. He is a very good kid in front of me, works hard on the pitch and runs tirelessly in every game.
To be honest, the main reason why the Chinese players under my leadership have been able to enter the World Cup is because they have been trained and selected by a systematic youth training system, caught up with the more intense competition in professional soccer, and even had the opportunity to play overseas. Their vision, confidence and awareness were all improved, and the new forces in the team all grew up on the basis of the Jianlibao team, which is a very special training model. Under the conditions at that time, it did provide new blood for Chinese soccer.
When I was coaching the Chinese men's soccer team, some players came to me in various ways and asked me to choose them to enter the national team. At that time, my explanation was: it was not that I had no choice, the first choice was not entirely up to me, and the second had no ability to enter the national team, I would not use it and it was a waste of quota.
Li Tie once told me that his goal as a coach was to lead the Chinese men's soccer team to the World Cup, but he did something contrary to his ideal. Maybe he didn't resist this great temptation. I can understand that! He's not well educated, he's not a good talker, and it's normal for his mind to fluctuate! But if you do something wrong, you have to bear all the consequences! I still hope that he will reflect deeply, reform himself and start over.
So far, I still have one suggestion. Local Chinese coaches are not fit to coach the national team. At least at this stage, it has nothing to do with ability, but simply because soccer is not destined to be rushed. How difficult it is to master the basics in China also means how important it is. Local coaches have to endure much more pressure and intervention than my foreign coaches. Even "old-timers" like me used to feel overwhelmed, let alone them. Realize that this is a position that is enough to destroy the human spirit.
