National team experience

Played for the national team in two European Nations Cups in 1992 and 1996.

France won the 1998 World Cup, with Blanc leading the team all the way to the final. Facing their rivals Paraguay in the quarter-finals, France were locked in a stalemate with their opponents until Braun scored a golden goal in extra time, assisting the French team to enter the last eight. Unfortunately, in the semi-final against Croatia, Blanc was kicked out of the game with a red card, and as a result, he was unable to play in the final due to suspension.

In the 2000 European Cup of Nations, Blanc again helped France win the title.

coaching career

After his retirement he coached Ligue 1 club Bordeaux in the summer of 2007, leading the team to the 2008-2009 French Ligue 1 title.

In July 2010, he became the coach of the French team, and during his tenure, he helped the national team reach the final round of the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship. However, after winning one and losing one in the group stage and finishing in the last eight, he announced that he would not renew his contract with the French Football Federation and left the French national team after the UEFA Nations Cup.

He became manager of Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2013 and won the Ligue 1 title in his first season in the job.
