In the 8th round of the English Premier League match on Sunday night, Chelsea lost 1-2 to Liverpool away from home. After the match, Chelsea defender Reece James was interviewed by the club's official, sharing his feelings about his comeback match and his expectations for the future.
Speaking about the comeback, Reece James said, "It's great to be playing again. I've missed playing in big games and playing against big names, so it's a big step up for me to be back in the game. It's been a long time since I've played and it's always tough to start a game at a venue like Anfield, but I feel good. It's been a tough road to recovery, but I hope I can stay fit, keep going and help the team achieve what we want to achieve."
On his thoughts on the game, Reece James commented, "It was never going to be easy coming here for the game. But I thought we controlled the game for the most part, we had a couple of chances initially but Liverpool have some very good players so it was always going to be a tough game. I thought it was a good performance from the team and the scoreline doesn't fully reflect our performance at Anfield, but it was the goals that decided the outcome of the game."
On what to look forward to in the future, Reece James said, "We didn't come away with the win this time, but we've done well for a while. So now it's just a case of getting our spirits back, we've got another game to play this week and then we'll be in the Premier League again at the weekend. I think looking back at the team's performances this season you can really see what we're trying to do. It's too early to tell though, we're getting better and I'm sure we'll get better and better."
The comeback of Reece James is undoubtedly a good news for Chelsea, his experience and strength will bring more options and possibilities for the team. Despite failing to win this game, Chelsea's entire team has maintained a positive attitude, and I believe they will continue to bring great performances to their fans in the coming games.
