In an interview, Arsenal star Petit gave his assessment of Merino, the new recruit who joined the team from Real Sociedad this summer. Petit believes that Merino has not yet fully adapted to the rhythm and intensity of the Premier League.

Merino has made three appearances for Arsenal since joining the club this summer. However, Petit noted, "I don't think Merino has fully adapted to the Premier League yet, both in terms of the tempo and intensity of the game, and it will take some time for him to get used to it."

Petit further explained, "When you play for Spain or have played in La Liga, you find that you have more preparation time when receiving the ball. You have a few seconds to think and plan your next move. But in the Premier League, it's a completely different story. The pace here is so fast that you hardly have time to think."

Nonetheless, Petit is confident in Merino's future, "I have full confidence that he will be able to adapt himself to the Premier League. He is a strong player and given enough time and opportunity, he will be able to show his strengths in the Premier League."

Merino's joining is regarded as one of the important reinforcements in Arsenal's summer transfer window, and both the team and the fans have high hopes for him. Although he is still in the adaptation stage, I believe that in the near future, he can become an indispensable member of the Arsenal squad and contribute to the team.
