Invited to the English Football Journalists' Association dinner, Manchester United manager Jens Ten Hagar gave his thoughts on the current state of the team, the upcoming UEFA Cup tie and player Hoylum.

Ten Hagar began by talking about United's start to the season: "We know we didn't get off to a good start and we're not happy about that. But we are happy with the victory in the last round of the league, especially the comeback win, but it's just one victory, it doesn't mean everything. If we want to win trophies, we have to consistently give great performances and work hard throughout the season."

He further emphasized, "You don't win trophies in the fall, winter or even in the spring, the real battle will be in April or May. It's a long process and we still have a long way to go. But I really believe we're on the right track. I hope all my fellow journalists will remain patient during the season and let's all look forward to the end."

Commenting on the upcoming UEFA Cup match, which will see Manchester United take on Fenerbahce, Ten Hag said, "It's a very crucial game for both sides. I'm looking forward to the showdown with Jose Mourinho, who has always coached in the past with great teams, is a real winner, has won many trophies and is a role model for many coaches."

In addition, Ten Hag spoke about United player Hoylum: "He suffered a lot of injuries in his first season, but when he stays fit he scores a lot of goals and it shows in his stats. We are confident in his potential and expect him to play well in the upcoming games."
