In Barcelona's 5-1 home win over Sevilla in the league match, midfielder core Pedri had a great performance, not only contributing to the team's goals, but also interviewed by the media after the match.
Speaking about the win, Pedri said, "This win is very important for the rest of the tournament. We played very well today, everyone gave their best and in the end we left the court with a good feeling and three points. This is the best reward for our effort and unity."
Pedri was very modest about his goal: "Luckily I had the chance to shoot and it went in. At the beginning I was a bit further forward, but Eric's (probably referring to another Barcelona player) injury forced me to drop back. I was ready to go wherever the coach told me to go. It's just as well that the coach warned us before the game that our opponents leave a lot of space in front of the box, and I managed to take advantage of those spaces and managed to score."
Despite the team's big win, Pedri expressed regret over the goal his team conceded, "Of course we wanted to shut out our opponents, but unfortunately we weren't able to do that today. Still, overall, we played very well, especially on the offensive end."
In addition, Pedri made special mention of teammate Garvey's comeback, "Garvey is back after almost a year and he deserves this moment. He's a hard worker, an amazing guy. I'm proud of him, you can tell the fans love him, we love him, everybody loves Garvey. His return has reinvigorated the team and I'm sure he'll continue to contribute to the team."
