Speaking about Curtis Jones' performance, Slaughter was highly complimentary: "He played very well and the whole team worked very hard. He was responsible for controlling Cole Palmer, which is a tough task because Palmer is a very strong player. But Jones not only accomplished that task, he was also involved in awarding two penalties and scoring the crucial goal, which was very impressive of him."
Finally, Slotter emphasized the importance of the game, "Everyone who has watched this game knows it won't be easy. But we have now opened up a little gap with Chelsea and in my opinion they will be at the top. So this win means a lot to us and it puts us in a more favorable position in the table."
