Which teams did Malouda play for?

Malouda's career

Malouda was born in French Guiana, South America, and was later invited to join the French league. In his early years, he mainly played for some lower division clubs in France, including Chateauroux and Gambon in the second division. In addition to attacking, he also played in defense. At Gambon, he scored 15 goals in 92 games, which led to Lyon, a major Ligue 1 club, recommending him.

Since joining Lyon in 2003, Malouda has made a name for himself at the club. Lyon have won five consecutive Ligue 1 titles since 2001, with Malouda helping out in 2004, 2005 and 2006. He plays as a left winger, and works well with a group of attacking players such as Junior Juninho. His most impressive game was a crucial goal against Real Madrid in the UEFA Europa League, which helped Lyon eliminate Real Madrid.

During the 2006-07 season, Malouda had already expressed his desire to play for other mega clubs, and at that time he was offered by Manchester United and Liverpool in the Premier League. However, at the end of the season, Malouda announced on July 10, 2007 that he would join Chelsea for a transfer fee of 13.5 million pounds.

In the 2007-08 season, Malouda started as a regular and scored a goal, but later on, he was plagued by injuries and his appearances dwindled. There were questions about whether Malouda could succeed in the Premier League.

In the second half of the 2008-09 season, Malouda's performance improved by leaps and bounds, scoring and assisting frequently. In the FA Cup final, he scored the equalizer with an assist for D'Aubas and a long range shot that bounced off the crossbar and into the goal line (which was disallowed by a referee's error), which helped Chelsea to beat Everton 2-1 and win the FA Cup.

With a number of players joining the club in 2012, Malouda was not in the list of players registered for Premier League matches, let alone the 2012-2013 Europa League Champions Cup matches, and was banished from first-team training and forced to drill with the U-21s.

After completing his contract with Chelsea on June 30, 2013, Malouda signed a two-year deal with Turkish club Trabzonspor on July 17 of the same year.

On September 12, 2014, Malouda returned to Ligue 1 after seven years abroad, signing with Metz.
