Evra started his soccer career with the youth team of Paris Saint-Germain, and in 1998 he joined Italian Liga C club Marsala. In 1998 he joined Italian Ligue 3 club Marsala, then moved to another Ligue 2 club, Monza Brianza, before returning to France in 2000 and moving to Nice in Ligue 2. He was fortunate enough to be recognized by Ligue 1 club Monaco's coach, Diegans, and joined the club in 2002, helping Monaco win the French League Cup in 2003, and the following year leading the club to the Champions League final, where they were runners-up to Porto in a 0-3 defeat.
On January 10, 2006 Evra joined Manchester United for £5.5 million on a 3½-year deal.On February 21, 2011, United extended Evra's contract until the end of the 2013/14 season.On May 27, 2014, United extended Evra's contract for one year until the end of the 2014/15 season.
On July 21, 2014, Evra moved from Manchester United to Serie A club Juventus for a £1.2 million transfer fee on a two-year deal, with sources revealing that United will receive an extra £300,000 if Juventus qualify for the 2015/16 UEFA Champions League.
On January 25, 2017, Evra moved to Ligue 1 club Marseille on an eighteen-month contract, and on November 10 of the same year, Evra terminated his contract with Marseille.On February 7, 2018, Evra moved to English Premier League club West Ham United on a four-month contract. At the end of his contract, Evra did not renew his contract with West Ham United and returned to free agency.
On July 30, 2019, Evra confirmed the end of his 20-year playing career through a visit.
