Harald Schumacher often referred to as Tony Schumacher was a famous German goalkeeper in the 1980s and a member of the German national soccer team at the time, during which time he helped Germany to win the 1980 UEFA European Football Championship and be runners-up in the 1982 and 1986 World Cups. He was controversial for knocking down Patrick Battiston during the 1982 World Cup semi-final match between Germany and France.
