Klinsmann's personal life
Klinsmann's family
Klinsmann's family ran a bakery in the Botnang district of Stuttgart under the name "Klinsmann", which is still in business today. At the 2014 World Cup, both the German and American flags were displayed in front of the bakery (Klinsmann was the head coach of the United States at the time), and although the two teams were placed in the same group, they were able to qualify for the eighth-quarter finals together; after Germany's victory over Brazil in the quarterfinals, the bakery made a special bakery that was covered in black, red, and yellow sugar sprinkled with the colors of the German flag, and had "7:1" written on it. The bakery celebrated with a loaf of bread sprinkled with black, red and yellow (the colors of the German flag) and the words "7:1". So Klinsmann sometimes speaks fondly of himself as a "baker's son from Botnang" (baker's son from Botnang). In fact, Klinsmann was himself a qualified apprentice baker.
Klinsmann is married to Chinese-American model Debbie Chin, and has lived in Huntington Beach, California, USA since their marriage, and has recently been reported to have moved to Newport Beach.10 The couple have two children, Jonathan (born 1997) and Laila (born 2001). Their son Jonathan is also a professional soccer player and goalkeeper for Hertha Berlin in the German Bundesliga.
