The Los Angeles Lakers hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves on the opening day of the season. In the end, the Lakers beat the Timberwolves 110 - 103, winning their first game of the season.
Game review: At the beginning of the first quarter, Hachimura Kashimoto was in excellent condition, hitting three points plus dunking Goebel. Timberwolves side, McDaniels layup and Edwards three points to break the deadlock. The two sides then fell into an inefficient tug-of-war, the Lakers emphasized the conversion speed but not efficient, the Timberwolves due to the addition of Randall, the chemistry needs to be re-established. Free throws by the Brow gave the Lakers a five-point lead, but soon Alexander Walker and Reed hit three-pointers and DiVincenzo added a layup to end the first quarter with the Wolves leading 23-22.
In the second quarter, after the stalemate lasted three minutes, the Lakers found offensive inspiration. Rookie Knecht assisted Hayes foul shot, James induced Randall to foul and scored a layup himself. Then Knecht three-point and rebound layups in a row, Reeves face off Edwards fast break into 2 + 1. The Lakers quickly pulled the gap to double-digits, Redick replaced Brownie, James and his son to realize the first time in the NBA history of the father and son on the same stage. James made a nice pass to Brownie, but the latter missed a three-pointer. The Wolves took advantage of the opportunity to chase points, but the Lakers only let Brownie play two minutes to replace, Christie hit free throws, the end of the half, the Lakers 55 - 42 lead.
In the second half of the game, the Brows airborne dunk, Reeves and Hachimura Kashimoto took turns scoring, the Lakers maintained a double-digit advantage. Wolves in the second half of the third quarter to find the offensive feeling, Diwinchenzo three hit, Goebel and Randall inside attack worked. In the end, the Lakers beat the Timberwolves 110 - 103.
