De Jong's national team experience
In August 2018, Frankie de Jong made his debut for the Netherlands national soccer team.On September 6, de Jong made his national team debut when he was given the chance to come on as a substitute just after the start of the second half in the Netherlands' 2-1 friendly win over Peru, and assisted teammate Memphis Depay in the 60th minute of the match to help equalize.On November 16, in the group stage of the UEFA Nations League, the Netherlands defeated France 2 De Jong assisted teammate Memphis Depay to score the winning goal in full-time injury time as the Netherlands defeated France 2-1 in the UEFA Nations League group stage on Nov. 16.
On June 9, 2019, De Jong made his debut in the UEFA Nations League final and played the entire match, but the Netherlands ended up as runners-up to Portugal in a 0-1 loss. Throughout the UEFA Nations League, De Jong made six appearances for the Dutch national team, assisting twice, and was named UEFA's Best Young Player of the UEFA Nations League and named to the UEFA Nations League Best XI for the final stage.
In November 2022, De Jong was named to the final 26-man squad for the Netherlands for the 2022 World Cup.
