The Soccer Salon is strongly opposed to this and cited the following five reasons in an official statement:
I. Since May 18th, due to Beijing's epidemic prevention and control policy, the school has been closed and all personnel are not allowed to enter or leave.
Secondly, during the epidemic prevention and control period, we have repeatedly communicated with the relevant departments to request an extension of travel to the tournament area or the provision of measures to prevent the epidemic upon arrival at the tournament area, but we have not yet received a clear reply. The team conducted nearly 20 rounds of nucleic acid tests during the closure period and the results were all negative.
Third, on June 10, with the assistance of the competition area, the team took a point-to-point closed-loop approach, traveled by bus to the designated hotel of the Nanjing competition area, and carried out a seven-day quarantine health monitoring in accordance with the local epidemic prevention requirements.
Fourth, we had raised the hope of participating in the second round of the Central League match against Jiangxi, but the organizing committee of the tournament rejected our request on the grounds of epidemic prevention and control.
V. In the fourth stage of the Central League last season, a team was refused entry by the competition area because it had traveled to an epidemic risk area, but eventually the relevant authorities ensured that the team involved in the epidemic completed all the matches successfully by adjusting the league fixtures.
In summary, as a soccer salon of a well-known university in China, we respect and understand the epidemic prevention regulations of the local and tournament area, and are willing to cooperate actively. At the same time, as a student army in China's professional league, we always uphold the attitude of learning, cherish the opportunity to exercise in the professional league, and hope that competitive sports can reflect the real winners and losers on the field.
Therefore, we will continue to insist on the demand of completing the first and second rounds of this season's Central League matches by means of a bye, and hope that the relevant authorities will consider it carefully.
