Pedro: Tonight's match was undoubtedly an exciting one. Zhejiang took the lead in the first half and scored twice in a row, while we had the opportunity, but unfortunately failed to grasp it. We have studied Zhejiang's tactics in depth, knowing that they are good at defensive counter-attacks, sharp side attack, and the foreigners are highly skilled at grabbing points. For this reason, we targeted training before the game. In the second half, the players showed the unyielding spirit, the offensive end achieved results, we also scored a goal. However, soccer matches are always full of variables, and although we dominated the field, we were unable to convert it into a goal in the end. Despite the defeat, failure cannot be a reason for us to sink, because four days later, we will have a new challenge. We need to put aside our distractions, take stock and prepare for the next match.
What were the team's shortcomings in the first half?
Pedro: In the first half, the players did not play as well as they should have. On the one hand, the strength of the opponents should not be underestimated, on the other hand, the opponents tend to be more focused and intense when facing us. We may still encounter similar problems in the next matches. Indeed, both sides were equal in creating chances in the first half, but the opponents were better in grasping the chances.
What are the team's current pressing issues?
Pedro: The first priority is to solve the problem of injuries in the team, and I hope the injured players can recover soon. The league is long and injuries are inevitable. Unfortunately, there were injuries during the training period and many players were unable to play. Nonetheless, the performance of the players was commendable and we deserved at least a draw. However, there is still room for improvement in terms of taking chances. With 14 rounds left in the league, we will keep our feet on the ground and move forward one step at a time, hoping to make progress in the next preparations.
Any comments on Malcolm's performance?
Pedro: Overall, I'm happy with Malcom's performance. His goal was the best proof of his performance. We know Malcom's strengths and weaknesses and we know how to play to his strengths. This was Malcolm's first game with the team and he may not be fully back to his best, but I am satisfied with his performance and I believe he will do even better in the future.
