Summary of Interview with Zhao Mingjian
On September 29, a piece of news spread rapidly on social media - in an official interview of the Central League, Zhao Mingjian, the newly-promoted best player of the 22nd round of the Central League in Dalian, talked freely about his views on issues of concern to many fans.
-How are you adjusting to joining the Quakers?
Zhao Mingjian replied with a smile, "It's not bad, through the in-depth communication with the head coach and the selfless help of my teammates, I have successfully integrated into the team. The current results also confirm the positive development trend of the team."
--Why the preference for the use of the outside back of the foot to touch the ball?
Zhao Mingjian explained, "There are various ways of touching the ball on the field, the middle foot back, the foot arch, the outside foot back, all of them are based on the actual situation to choose a different way of passing the ball. In fact, I didn't deliberately use only the outside instep."
-- Is it more like a goal or an assist?
Zhao Mingjian said modestly, "I prefer to assist, I have always prided myself on being a green player, and most of the goals were made by luck, or 'munged'."
--What is the origin of the social media nickname "Nicholas Zhao Si"?
Zhao Mingjian recalled, "When I watched Countryside Love in 2013, I fell in love with the character Zhao Si and felt that I was a bit similar to him. The nickname has stuck since then. When I was in the Dalian team, my teammates called me Little Tiger and Hair Sword, and now that I'm getting older, some people also call me Fourth Brother, it's just a name."
--Why do you like to chat with fans on the air?
Zhao Mingjian confessed, "Everyone has their own hobbies, I like to chat with my fans in the live broadcasting room and share my life. In this closed circuit, besides training, it's all about competition, so live broadcasting has become my only form of entertainment. I think this is quite good."
--What are the plans for the future?
Zhao Mingjian said, "I have no particular plans for the future, but I certainly won't choose to become a coach. I hope to play a few more years as my ability allows. If there comes a day when I am no longer capable, I will choose to retire and never hold the team back. For now, I hope to play for two more years."
--Why didn't you choose to become a coach?
Zhao Mingjian said humorously, "I don't want to mislead people, just kidding. I don't think I'm very suitable to be a coach because soccer has made me delay my cultural learning. I'm worried that my expression is hard for kids to understand."
--What are the goals for this season?
Zhao Mingjian said firmly: "I came to Kunshan to help the team, under the leadership of the coach, to win the Central League Championship, which is my only pursuit in Kunshan."
