On September 25th, the 17th round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) was rekindled with the Dalian People's Team shaking hands with Guoan in a 2-2 battle. In this matchup, former Shenhua players Shang Yin and Fei Yu did not appear in the starting lineup. According to Weekly Shanghai, Xie Hui's rotation of these two players seems to be to give Shenhua two unexpected "gifts".

Shang Yin, along with Fei Yu, is a former member of the Shenhua team, and in 2013, after a long career in the amateur league, he was picked up by Shenhua, but was loaned out to Jiangxi Liansheng to play in the Chinese League B. In 2015, his contract with Shenhua expired, and was not renewed, and he went on to play for a number of teams in the Chinese League A. He was not able to join Dalian, a team coached by Xie Hui, until 2020, when he was able to join them. It was not until 2022 that Shang Yin was able to join Dalian Ren, a team coached by Xie Hui.

Fei Yu, also from Shenhua, made his debut in Shenhua's 2011 season away to Nanchang Hengyuan, but failed to renew his contract for the 2013 season and began his journey to overseas leagues, joining the Dalian side in 2022.

This season, Shang Yin and Fei Yu, two once forgotten names, have been revitalized under the guidance of Coach Xie Hui. In the 17 rounds of matches so far, Shang Yin has made 15 appearances, contributing 4 goals and 1 assist; Fei Yu has made 16 appearances, collecting 2 goals and 2 assists.

However, these two stalwarts of the team did not make their debut in last Sunday night's match against Beijing Guoan. 29th, Dalian People's team will host Shenhua, and I am afraid that there is a deep meaning in this arrangement by Coach Xie Hui.
