In the 16th round bye of the Chinese Super League (CSL), Henan Songshan Dragons were defeated by Shanghai Seaports by a score of 1-2 on Sept. 20 in Beijing, although Henan's foreign player Pina scored his first goal in the Chinese league, earning his team a valuable point.
Regarding the goal, Pina expressed his joy: "I feel very excited, it's not only my first goal playing in China, but more importantly, I want the team to win. Unfortunately, we failed to achieve this, so the mood is more or less mixed."
Talking about his team's first half woes, Pina was blunt: "Overall, we didn't play fluently, and there were quite a few problems in both offense and defense. Whether it was individual defensive technique or overall formation setup, we gave our opponents quite a few chances to score."
As for the team's second half adjustments, Pina said, "It's true that we got more chances to score in the second half, but unfortunately, we couldn't equalize the score."
