CSL Round 16: Guangzhou City turns back Jinmen Tigers 2-0, ending 13 consecutive defeats curse

In the 16th round of the Chinese Super League (CSL), Guangzhou City defeated Jinmen Tigers 2-0 with Song Wenjie's hat-trick, successfully claiming their second win of the season and taking the opportunity to break the previous 13-round winless spell.

After the match, Guangzhou City's foreign aid Guilherme said in an interview, "This win is crucial for us. We agreed in the locker room before the game to put the past games behind us and start from scratch. The veteran players encouraged the young players, telling everyone not to have too much burden and pressure, and that we, the veteran players, would carry the load when we encountered problems."

Talking about the new head coach Li Wei Feng, Guilherme said, "We all know him better, we know the glory of his playing days, and he possesses a firm quality of will. We have also seen how he has transformed the team, and we believe we will perform better under the guidance of Li."

Jinmen Tigers player Wang Qiuming said after the game, "The loss was because we didn't play well enough on our own. Every team encounters difficulties, but the key is that we didn't do our part well."
