Today's news, China's second division Wuxi Wu Hook Football Club officially announced that Wei Xin, a well-known international footballer in the past, will assume the post of the team's new head coach.

Wei Xin, born on April 18, 1975 in the mountainous city of Chongqing, has had a long playing career with his hometown team, Chongqing Lifan, where he won the AFC Cup in 2000, and was selected for the national team from 2001 to 2006, where he helped China reach the final round of the 2002 World Cup and finish second in the 2004 Asian Cup. During his time in the national team, Wei Xin was repeatedly selected for the national team from 2001 to 2006, and helped China reach the final round of the 2002 FIFA World Cup, as well as winning the runner-up spot in the 2004 Asian Cup, making him an iconic figure in Chongqing soccer.

In 2008, Wei Xin chose to retire and then officially became the head coach of Chongqing Lifan, and successfully led the team to the Super League. Since then, he has also worked as an assistant coach for the National Junior Team, as well as the leader and coach of the U22 national team.From 2016 to 2019, he coached at Nantong Zhiyun Football Club, leading the team to the Central League.In 2020, Wei Xin returned to Chongqing Contemporary Lifan FC as the leader of the first-team squad and head of the Chinese coaching team.

Wei Xin is not only known for his elegance, humility and approachability in life, but also his dedication and pragmatism in work.
