On August 29, Beijing time, the Chinese Super League powerhouse Guangzhou City ushered in heavy personnel changes: Li Wei Feng, former international footballer and former Tianjin Tianhai head coach, was appointed head coach of the first team, while Zhao Junzhe will serve as technical director.

After careful consideration by the senior management of our club, we have decided to officially employ Mr. Li Wei Feng as the head coach of the first team of Guangzhou City Football Club with immediate effect. At the same time, Mr. Zhao Junzhe will take over as the club's technical director and step down from his duties as the acting head coach of the first team.
Mr. Li Wei Feng has not only had a bright career as a player, but has also accumulated rich experience in coaching the first team of the Chinese Super League. Mr. Li has made 112 appearances for China, making him the international footballer with the highest number of appearances in history, and the only Chinese male footballer who has participated in both the World Cup and the Olympic Games. After his retirement, Mr. Li Wei Feng served as deputy general manager and team leader and head of the coaching team at Tianjin Tianhai Football Club. In the second half of the 2019 season, he was appointed to successfully lead Tianjin Tianhai to complete the relegation task. We expect Mr. Li Wei Feng's arrival will bring a new tactical approach to the team, as well as injecting the spirit of hard work to make the team more resilient in the face of challenges.
