
In the late afternoon of August 25th, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced the FIFA World Ranking of National Teams for this season. Our national soccer team has achieved a slight increase in this period's standings, accumulating 1,305.06 points, ranking 78th globally and 11th in the Asian region, which is consistent with the previous period's rankings.
Looking back at the last edition of the rankings, the data was updated on June 23, when our national team scored 1,304.02 points, which also ranked 78th globally and 11th in Asia. In the rating cycle just past, our men's soccer team participated in the East Asia Cup as a select team, with results of a 0-3 loss against South Korea, a 0-0 draw with Japan, and a 1-0 win over Hong Kong, China, thus realizing a 0.04-point increase in points.
In Asian football, the top 10 teams are Iran, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iraq, Oman and Uzbekistan. It is worth mentioning that the top three teams, Iran, Japan and South Korea, are not only on the Asian list, but are also in the top 30 globally, ranking 22nd, 24th and 28th respectively.
The country is among the teams ranked 11 to 20 in the Asian region, followed by Bahrain, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam, Lebanon, India and Tajikistan.
In addition, Hong Kong, China is ranked 147th and 25th in Asia, Chinese Taipei is ranked 157th and 32nd in Asia, and Macau, China is ranked 182nd and 37th in Asia in this edition of the rankings.
