AFC Cup First Round Highlights
On August 22, Yanjing Beer 2022 in the

The first round of the Association Cup is in full swing, with 18 teams in the first division playing single elimination matches in Dalian, Tangshan and Nanjing. After a lot of competition, Suzhou Dongwu, Zibo Cuju and other 9 teams stood out and advanced to the second round. In the first round of the tournament, young players such as Wang Hansheng, Liu Tianyang and Hao Kesen performed well. Wang Hansheng was named Player of the Match after his outstanding performance in the tournament. The 21-year-old scored his first career goal when he broke through Qingdao Hainiu's goal on August 8 in the Central League. In the AFC Cup, he scored again, showing his potential.
Leaders Eliminated, Cold Cuts
The AFC Cup has always had its share of cold streaks, and on August 21st, Nantong Zhiyun, who are ranked first in the Central League, failed to qualify for the next round of the competition with a 0-2 defeat against Shijiazhuang Kung Fu. Liu Tianyang and Rosario scored for Shijiazhuang Kung Fu.
In the match between Sichuan Jiu Niu and Beijing North Sports University, Sichuan Jiu Niu won 4:2, and Xia Dalong scored two goals and won the best player. The match between Nanjing City and Qingdao Youth Island was 0:0 in 90 minutes. In the penalty shootout, Hao Kesen, the goalkeeper of Nanjing City, pounced on the opponent's penalty kick and helped his team to win.
In the penalty shootout, Heilongjiang Bingcheng and Qingdao Hainiu were tied at 2-2, and it took eight rounds of penalties to separate the winners from the losers. Kunshan beat Liaoning Shenyang City 4:2, Shaanxi Chang'an Athletic defeated Guangxi Pingguo Ha Loud and Clear 0:1, and Jiangxi Beidamen beat Xinjiang Tianshan Snow Leopard 4:3.

The draw for the round of 32 will take place for the Concacaf Cup, which consists of 18 teams from the Chinese Super League, 9 teams from the Chinese First Division, the top three teams from the Chinese Second Division, and 2 teams from the final stage of the Chinese Champions League. The second to sixth round matches are proposed to be played between November 22, 2022 and January 8, 2023.
