Pirlo's retired career on the soccer stage

Pirlo retired, but the soccer world has not seen him fade away. With his outstanding popularity and beloved connections, Pirlo has remained active in soccer charity matches after his retirement. On April 21, 2018, Pirlo was invited to participate in the "Match for Solidarity" charity match organized by the São Paulo team in Brazil, where he played alongside former comrades such as Figo and Ronaldinho. Pirlo's team narrowly won the match against Figo's team, 4-3. Turning to May 21, Pirlo hosted a meaningful charity retirement farewell match at San Siro. He chose to say goodbye to his old friends who accompanied him throughout his career on this familiar ground.

Charity Farewell Roster: a star-studded field

The tournament brought together many of the biggest names who played in the Italian Serie A in the 90's, and they all came together to see Pirlo off.

Pirlo failed to score in the game but delivered a fine assist to Vieri in the first half. In the second half, Inzaghi scored three goals in nine minutes to help his team end the game in a 7-7 draw. After the match, Pirlo received a warm welcome from more than 50,000 fans.

On March 23, 2019, Pirlo took part in a charity match between Liverpool and AC Milan seniors, where he scored a free kick. On May 29 of the same year, Pirlo scored a penalty in a Juventus charity match to raise money for cancer research.
