Career Highlights
Dutch soccer prodigy Sneijder, who has been honed in the Ajax youth camp since his childhood, was unexpectedly promoted to the first team in the 2002-03 season when he was not yet 18 years old due to an outbreak of a wave of injuries in the midfield. Although Sneijder was not big in stature, he showed stable play and excellent long-range shooting skills in the Dutch League, and was able to play on both the right and left flanks, and Ajax won the Dutch League title in 2004 as a result.
Spain Tour
In 2007, Sneijder joined Real Madrid for €27 million, wearing the number 23 shirt, a number that once symbolized David Beckham. Sneijder quickly integrated into the team and became the top scorer in La Liga after scoring four goals in his first three league games. Despite a dip in his goal tally, he played an integral role in midfield and switched to the number 10 shirt for the 2008/09 season.
Inter Milan's Splendor
In 2009, Sneijder moved to Inter Milan for 15 million euros and helped the team win the Serie A title and the Champions League Cup. After the World Cup in South Africa, Sneijder turned down an offer from Manchester United to stay at Inter Milan. However, in the 2012-13 season, Inter Milan attempted to reduce his salary due to the financial crisis, Sneijder refused to renew his contract and was "frozen". He eventually joined Galatasaray in 2013 for €7.5 million.
In 2019, Sneijder announced his retirement, ending his soccer career. For more details on Snead's career, stay tuned to our website.
