First look at the national team's journey

In the height of summer 2018, Frankie de Jong stepped into the Dutch national team family with a brand new identity. In September of the same year, De Jong made his national team debut at the age of 20 in a friendly match against Peru. He not only made his debut in the second half, but also assisted in the 60th minute to help his team equalize. The following November, De Jong again showed his assisting prowess in a fierce match with France, helping the Netherlands seal the victory.

European Nations League, Stars Shine Bright

In June 2019, De Jong made his debut in the UEFA Nations League final, taking part in the entirety of the Netherlands' match against Portugal, and although the Netherlands ultimately came away with a bitter taste in their mouths, De Jong's performances earned him plaudits. He made six appearances throughout the tournament, contributing two assists, and was not only honored as the UEFA Nations League's best young player, but was also named to the best XI.

World Cup roster, moment of glory

De Jong was honored to be included in the Netherlands' final 26-man squad for the 2022 World Cup, however, he was left to regret his absence due to injury on the Euro 2024 stage.
