On the night of July 24th, our soccer team played a 0-0 draw with hosts Japan in the second round of the East Asian Cup. In the press conference immediately following, our head coach, Jankovic, confessed, "We are generally satisfied with this result, however, the failure to win is still a little regrettable."
Jankovic further elaborated in the press conference that after the game against South Korea, the team conducted a comprehensive and in-depth summary, analyzing the solidity of the defense and attacking strategy in detail. "When we met the powerful Japanese team, we maintained a certain degree of satisfaction with the result of the match, nevertheless, failing to win the match is still a regret in our hearts."
He said: "Before facing Japan, we expect our players to go beyond their performance against South Korea in the last match and fight for more possession of the ball. In my opinion, the key to facing a strong team is not to simply play defense, but to control the ball and show our style. Therefore, we first summarized the mistakes on the defensive end in the game against Korea and hope that in the next game, the midfield and backline can better control the ball and the rhythm of the game."
