In Beijing time on July 19, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) issued an urgent directive ordering professional clubs to make sure to submit a detailed summary of wage arrears and a progress report on the resolution of the aforementioned season to the CFA before the July 18 deadline. They have the right to submit the appropriate supporting documents to the FA if the wage defaulters have not yet signed the confirmation.
The official announcement from the FA states that the previous directive clearly requires professional clubs to submit a summary table of salary arrears for the 2021 season and previous seasons, as well as a progress report on the resolution, to the FA by July 18th. The report should contain information on all those who are owed wages, including but not limited to first-team players, ladder players, coaches and all staff who have official contracts with the club.
If the wage defaulter does not sign the acknowledgement, they can submit the relevant supporting documents as follows:
I. Identification materials
Wage defaulters are required to provide valid personal identification (scanned color version) and contact information.
II. Contracts and other supporting documents
Those who owe wages are required to provide a work contract with a professional club and other supporting explanatory materials. In the case of players, a work contract filed with the CFA is also required.
III. Other considerations
Wage defaulters are required to email the above materials to the designated email address between July 19 and July 25, 2022. If the wage defaulter has already signed and confirmed on the club's wage arrears summary form, or has reached a wage arrears settlement agreement with the club and filed it with the FA, he/she does not need to repeat the above steps.
The FA will carefully review the materials received and process them in accordance with the regulations.
