In the Asian Cup summit clash, Saudi Arabia beat hosts Uzbekistan by an overwhelming 2-0 margin to win the title, while Uzbekistan came in second place, and Japan beat Australia by a score of 3-0 to take the third place. Our team regretted to stop at the qualifying round and failed to reach the final.

The Asian Cup was held from June 1 to 19 in Uzbekistan. Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan topped Group D and Group A with two wins and a draw in the group stage. Saudi Arabia beat Vietnam and Australia 2-0 in the knockout rounds, while Uzbekistan beat Iraq 3-2 on penalties and Japan 2-0 in the semifinals before meeting in the final.
On the final night, Saudi Arabia beat Uzbekistan again with a 2-0 win, with Ghamdi scoring in the 48th minute and Buraikan in the 74th minute to seal the victory. Meanwhile, in the 3rd and 4th place finals earlier in the day, Japan managed to claim the third place with a comfortable 3-0 win over Australia.
Dating back to October 11, 2021, our U22 men's national team announced its withdrawal from the Tajikistan
Asian Cup qualifiers and therefore failed to qualify for the final stage of the tournament.
