Speaking about his time in my country, Vampveld said, "I had a great time there. I enjoyed it very much. But what we hear about China in Europe is not always true. Chinese soccer and culture inspired me and I felt at home both in the North and in the South. China is an amazing country and very safe. I still have a bank account there and I haven't canceled my Chinese phone number yet. You see: I haven't left the country yet."
Regarding his future plans, Vampveld is in no hurry, he just wants to spend time with his family and friends right now: "I haven't seen our children and grandchildren in two years."
However, he has received a number of job offers both at home and abroad, "I forwarded these to my lawyers and anything is possible. By the way, I don't rule out the possibility of going back to China to work as a consultant."
It is worth noting that van Perveld had the opportunity to coach the Chinese national team. He revealed that once the president of the Football Association asked him if he wanted to coach the national team, a position that was both lucrative and interesting, but he declined. Everyone around him was stunned, it is not customary in China to say no to someone with such a position, and I explained that I wanted to be an advisor to the national team coach, giving advice and helping him grow.
